Day3
Same drill. We woke up, got some breakfast and started heading to our next location. After a couple hours in the bus we arrived to Rothenburg. Rothenburg is a very small and beautiful town. Like all the other places so far: we explored the city and took a lot of pictures and had a nice time. Just like in Köln me and my friend found a high tower in which we just had to climb up in. The climb was worth it though. The view up from the tower was amazing. Up in the tower was an old guy selling tickets. He had a really small office with a small TV for entertainment. Somehow the old grumpy man looked a bit funny in his small office.
After the visit in Rothenburg we continued our trip once again and headed to Eisenach where we visited the second castle of our journey. The Wartburg castle. We had a really interesting guided tour in this castle. For example we learned that Martin Luther King had visited the castle and translated in this very castle a great amount of the new testament to German. Also the story about how this castle was founded was quite interesting. The quy that built the castle went hiking around in the terrain, and he thought the spot was so beautiful that he has to build his castle there. His problem was that he didn't own the land where he wanted to build his castle. Therefor he brought dirt from his own land during night to that very spot where the castle is now standing. So basically he built his castle on his ground, not someone else s. unfortunately i don't have pictures from inside the castle, since that would have costed me two euros ("welcome to Germany"). I really didn't feel like paying two euros to take pictures. But apparently everything costs in Germany. Even public bathroom (just a heads up)
After Wartburg we travelled to weimar where we spend the night.
