This weekend I changed my host families. It is a custom for rotary exchange students to have more than one host family. It was a little sad to change but it's not like i'm going to leave Germany yet so I still have time to meet my first host family!
So this weekend I went to Hamburg with my new host mom. There we met the Grandma of the family. She showed us around in Hamburg and we saw some really cool sight seeings. It was really cold and windy but other than that once again I had a really nice day in the beautiful Hamburg. First we went inside the Hamburg Rathaus and had a guided tour there. After we visited the famous Christmas market right outside the Rathaus. At one other Christmas market i saw a Finnish stand. There was a woman selling Finnish honey. I went straight away to this stand and started speaking Finnish with the lady, she was very surprised but thought it was nice also.

Small visit to Hamburg
These last few weeks I've had two weeks of vacation so me and my friend decided to visit Hamburg. I went to stay at my friends host family since he lives quite close to Hamburg. This way it was easier for us to go to Hamburg by train. Hamburg was really nice but we only had time to see the inner city. I have to return and explore other places too! But we had a fun time, we walked around in the inner city and then we met a friend of my friend with whom we drank some coffee, Not that much more to say about our visit, I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Everyday life in the Wesermarsch
First of all I have been really lazy with posting. Mostly because I have been quite busy with my everyday life here in Elsfleth and Brake. What has been keeping me so busy is mostly sports and a German language course. I joined the local swim team here and i practice three times a week with them even tho I'm representing my club back in Finland they are kind enough to let me practice with them. I have my first swim competition coming on the 15th of November! I'm really stoked to be finally able to compete! I've had a long break from competing in swimming...
I have my German course twice a week in Oldenburg. It takes a lot of time but the course is really good and I'm learning grammar and new words.
So my every week is full with program. In the morning I go to school, after school I go to Oldenburg for my German lessons or then I stay in Brake and hang around somewhere until my swim practice starts. And on the weekends I usually meet up with other exchange students or then I do sports.
